Welcome to THE SHAY the sleeping giant of Halifax pub life. Not anymore as your hosts Barry and Lisa are determined to make THE SHAY the best live music venue in the area. THE SHAY is situated on Hunger Hill next to Halifax Towns Shay football ground. We have given THE SHAY a makeover and refurbishment and further improvements are planned. We have chosen the slogan "THERE'S NO BIZ LIKE SHAY BIZ" The slogan reflects the speciality in Live music and we intend to live up to it. THE BEST LIVE MUSIC VENUE IN THE AREA.

ABOUT THE HOSTS

Barry has this to say about himself and Lisa:- I am Barry, an old punk and I still love punk music and probably always will. I also love seventy's and eighty's rock music like AC/DC, Thin Lizzy and the like, the louder it is the better I like it. Lisa is a real rock chick, let her on a drum kit and she's like Animal from the Muppets, put her on the karaoke with a Bon Jovi track on and she will sing all night. As you have probably gathered by now we are both music nuts but our passion is live music and our aim is for THE SHAY to become the top live music venue in the area. To achieve this will take hard work, good bands and lots of music lovers like ourselves. We also need the support of all the Live music lovers out there to make SHAY BIZ a success.

We have Saturday live band nights which feature many of the regions top Rock and Covers bands and also some quality bands from further afield. Once A Month is Friday Punk Night with live music from classic punk bands and supports from local up and coming bands, so if your in a punk band give us a call or e-mail from the contact us link. We would also like to hear from anybody who would be interested in other regular live music nights like folk, country, rock and roll, jazz or other styles and tastes in music, anything really so why dont you pop down on one of our Rock or Punk nights and see what you think. We want the kind of music you want to listen to so if there's enough interest in other styles of music we'll introduce a music night to cater for it.
